Platform Coffee Opens at Matthews

August 5, 2025

Platform Coffee, a local coffee shop partner, has opened their new location in our New City Matthews lobby! A grand opening will be scheduled later this fall, but the shop is up and running from 7:00 am–5:00 pm Monday through Saturday! We invite you to drop in, get coffee and a scone, and sit down to work for a bit. Here are a few photos from the soft launch on Friday morning.

Our staff team has been moving out of SouthPark in preparation for Phase 1 and will settle at City Co-Op as soon as it's ready.

Construction Work Has Begun

Construction (and demolition!) work has begun at City Co-Operative and New City Matthews, making space for ChurchxCity Counseling, New City staff office space, and a coffee shop.

Matthews Pastor Visits TTI in Kenya

Matthews Congregation Pastor, Heath Krueger, had the opportunity recently to visit Kenya with our ministry partner, The Timothy Initiative. Through Here, Near, & Far, New City is working with TTI in East Africa to help them plant over 2,000 churches. When Heath returned, we asked him to share about his experience with New City.
