Opening Day at SouthPark

“The Lord knew when the doors needed to open.”
-Emily Espinosa, SouthPark Kids Director
After sleet and snow delayed movers and canceled the originally scheduled Opening Day, our SouthPark Kids finally got to enter their new classrooms in the renovated wings of the Worship Center on Sunday, February 8.

Opening Day has been a long time coming, and work to make the spaces ready continued right up until the week before. Construction teams were finishing window installations and movers were transferring furniture from old classrooms to new ones. New City staff were setting toys and materials in place, putting together sign frames, setting up check-in stations, and more.
On Sunday morning, February 8, all of New City SouthPark came together under one roof as families found their kids’ new classrooms.Meanwhile, others in the congregation found their parking spots and entered the building through the East Lobby to relieve congestion in the Check-In Lobby. There were balloons and streamers and cookies to celebrate and everyone had a great time!
