In our mission and vision to help people find and followJesus here, near, and far, much of the work “far” is done hand in hand with ministry partners who are actively engaged in communities in East Africa and other global outposts.

One of these key partners is Edify, an organization that comes alongside entrepreneurs who offer quality Christ-centered education to children in their underserved communities. Edify partners with these entrepreneurs to provide training, loan capital, and education technology in order to help them improve and expand their schools.

Edify recently released their mid-year report, telling the stories of what’s been happening through their workaround the world in the past six months. Halfway through the year, Edify has partnered with over 34,000 schools, reaching more than 9.2 million students across 16 countries, including recent expansions in Kenya and Nigeria.

This summer, 34 individuals from New City will be going to the Dominican Republic with Edify on a “Vacation with a Purpose.” Whole families with children of all ages will serve in one of Edify’s partner schools, spend time encouraging the local Edify staff, and be on mission with like-minded families.

There will also be time for families to simply enjoy their vacation—go to the beach, play games, swim at the pool, etc. It will be an impactful week of serving, worship, and discussions on God's heart for the poor, and it will also be a lot of fun!
