Matthews Services

Hello Matthews Family,

I hope your week is off to a great start.

As you may know, on Sunday we had an unexpected gas leak in the Matthews worship center building early in the morning. The fire department came and deemed it unsafe to meet in the building, so we made the last-minute decision—in keeping with our commitment to have a safe place to gather—to move our adult worship service outdoors.

For the 9:30 service, we set up on the loading dock at City Co-Op and worshiped together out there. God gave us a beautiful day to be outdoors and worship. Thank you so much for being flexible.

As the service began, the fire department cleared the building and determined it was safe for kids to return to the NextGen hallways, so our Kids ministry moved back into their classrooms.

Thank you again for your grace, understanding, and flexibility. This was an unprecedented situation, and we made decisions with all the available information we had at the time.

As we learned in 2 Kings 4, every interruption is an opportunity to see God move and work in a different way.

Looking ahead to this coming weekend, we are excited to gather in worship together. Thankfully, everything has been repaired, the issue has been resolved, and the building is now safe.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at 9:30 or 11:00 am on Sunday at Matthews as we continue our series on Elisha in 2 Kings. Invite a friend and we’ll see you there!
