Pray. Give. Help.
If you are looking for ways to help financially or as a volunteer with crisis response in the wake of recent events, here is a list of ways you can get involved.
Crisis Response—ReachGlobal
Western North Carolina
One Saturday each month (with an option to go up Friday and spend the night in a local church), a small team of New City volunteers travel to Hendersonville, North Carolina to work with ReachGlobal Crisis Response and homeowners who are rebuilding after Hurricane Helene. Teams primarily assist with manual labor tasks including tree and debris removal, minor construction repairs, and general clean up.No special skills are needed, but space on the team is limited. Volunteers will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. To learn more or to join the team, reach out to Dan Nelson.
Samaritan's Purse
Samaritan’s Purse is responding in six locations after Hurricane Helene left a 500-mile trail of devastation from the Gulf Coast of Florida to the mountains of western North Carolina. There are a variety of ways to get involved including workdays and donations. Learn more.
ForCLT
The ForCLT network is helping to direct resources to the affected areas of NC. On their site, you can find ways to donate money and other resources along with volunteer opportunities. Learn more.
