Volunteer with New City ESL

Teach/Tutor

IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS, CONSIDER JOINING OUR TEAM OF TEACHERS/TUTORS. We work together to provide weekly interactive, engaging English lessons for our adult students while also building intentional relationships throughout the term.

During each 8-week term, English classes meet at the Ashley Place Apartments on Mondays, from 7:00-8:30 pm. English teachers are asked to arrive at 6:45 pm to help prepare the space.

No prior ESL experience is required.

Provide childcare

While classes meet, the adult students' children receive intentional childcare—including homework help, crafts, reading, games, etc.—from New City volunteers. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN HELPING MAKE THIS A FUN AND MEANINGFUL TIME FOR THE CHILDREN, WE WELCOME YOU TO SERVE A COUPLE OF MONDAY EVENINGS OR ON A WEEKLY BASIS.
